Gilmour Teacher of the Year
Laurie Hagar received her Early Childhood Education degree from the
University of Central
Oklahoma in 1999. Her teaching career began here at Kingfisher as
a teaching assistant in the alternative education classroom in the fall
of 1999. The next year included assignments in the
multi-handicapped classroom and high school Biblical Literature.
Each of these early assignments was an amazing teaching experience for
her.
In the fall of 2001, her passion for early childhood became her profession with a half-day teaching position in Pre Kindergarten at Gilmour. For two years, Laurie's half-day Pre K position was coupled with being a parent educator with the Oklahoma Parents as Teachers Grant. Since the fall of 2003, she has been blessed with two half-day Pre K classes.
Laurie continues to be humbled and privileged that her "job" is coming to Gilmour (one of the top ten elementary schools in Oklahoma), "working" with such an accomplished staff, and "playing" with some of the most engaging and exciting four and five year olds who are just beginning their educational endeavors.

he teaches seventh and eighth grade Spanish at the
Middle School. He is also co-sponsor of KHS Student Council.

Braden, eleven, and Kami, six. Mr. Schenk was a graduate of Watonga High
School and the University of Oklahoma. He is the son of Dr. Curtis
