KEF Teacher Grants
Kingfisher Educational Foundation (KEF) is a non-profit organization established to support our teachers and invest in students to enrich learning inside and outside the classroom to promote educational excellence. Our goal is to raise money to grow our endowment that generates revenue KEF uses to offer teacher grants for educational items and experiences that positively impact student learning. Our annual fundraiser is the KEF Duck Race that occurs around the 4th of July to raise money for our teachers. KEF partners with Kingfisher Public Schools administration and teachers to offer grants to teachers who submit a grant for review and approval. Last year, KEF awarded $30,000 in teacher grants. KPS administration also awarded an additional $15,000 for a total of $45,000 in supporting teacher grants. This amount fluctuates annually based upon the money we raise along with the KPS Administration’s budget. KEF again plans to award more than $30,000 towards teacher grants for the 2022 -2023 academic year. Overall, KEF and KPS together granted 95% of teacher grants submitted in this past cycle. KEF awards grants in December prior to Christmas break to ensure grants can be ordered for the second semester. Each grant is reviewed anonymously to avoid bias and maintain confidentiality for a fair process. A teacher can request two grants annually. For grades with multiple teachers where the grant may require more than two grant requests, they can work together to submit with different teacher names for a similar item or event. KEF asks those awarded teacher to send a brief summary of their success stories including photos so we can highlight and share these with the community showing how their donations are enhancing student learning inside and outside the classroom.
